Our featured #MusicMonday artist this week is the talented Mark Meadows.Coming back to the D.C Area by way of Dallas, TX, Mark is not your typical musician. His unique blend of jazz, funk, and soul create a sound to satisfy the musical palate of just about anyone. His debut album A Child Is Born received critical acclaim from the esteemed DownBeat Magazine.
Mark has appeared alongside world-renowned musicians such as Warren Wolf, Cyrus Chestnut, Dontae Winslow, Kris Funn, Todd Marcus, Eric Kennedy, Chad Lefkowitz Brown, Elijah Balbed, Quincy Phillips, Gary Thomas, Paul Bollenback, & Dr. Alex Norris. When he is not playing with music powerhouses, he is the Music Director for Faith Christian Fellowship Church in Baltimore, MD and is an Adjunct Instructor at Duke Ellington School for Performing Arts in Washington, D.C
His highly anticipated sophomore album Somethin’ Good is sure to not disappoint. Where an artist would normally revamp the classic Michael Jackson hit “Rock With You” timidly, Mark manages to revive this tune with complexity and depth that will be a pleasant surprise to all that hear it.
